Teachings are important but also putting them into the practice level is important. So you, Jnanasukha, have a plan to make this happen, and I am truly happy. Lama Tharchin Rinpoche

In ancient times, we didn’t have many distractions, so shedra (study) would be for five years to study and another five years to meditate in the mountain. But now, people don’t have this kind of time, but still theywant to do something positive and so I rejoice and appreciate that. Lama Tsering Gyaltsen

Joyful Grove of Scripture & Realization (Lung Tok Pemay Gatsal)

Tradition - Learning - Online Convenience

In the Nyingma tradition, education and practice are equally important. In Tibet, you would first attend a college (shedra) for five years and then go into retreat (druptra) for another five years. Although we cannot follow this model, we can certainly learn and practice. Thus Lama Tharchin Rinpoche included both Scripture (wisdom born of scriptural learning) and Realization (wisdom born of realization) in our name.

Our learning program consists of on-site programs and retreats, and beginning in the summer of 2011, online progranms taught by Lama Tsering Gyaltsen. These classes will be video-tapped an dtranslated in advance and then available for on-demand streaming. Live web-conferencing classes with Lama Dechen Yeshe Wangmo and a yearly on-site program with Lama Gyaltsen and Lama Yeshe Wangmo will provide a context for integrating learning and practice.

The Joyful Grove of Scripture & Realization was officially inaugurated on May 6, 2010 in Olympia, Washington. Present were Lama Tharchin Rinpoche, Lama Tsering Gyaltsen, Lama Dechen Yeshe Wangmo, and Directors. The first course "History of Buddhism" is based on a text by His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje and will launch in July 2011.
